This website is apart of an online residency, Welcome to My Home Page, created by Rachel Stuckey, with the Museum of Human Achievement located in Austin, Texas. Artists are able to create ‘net’ art; making browser based works for the online community to view and interact with.
As I spent my childhood in a digital world, I came to observe the different aesthetics and movements the internet has created throughout my lifetime. Observing, always- even when it looks like I’m not. My love of sci-fi, robots, dystopias, camp, technology, and general weirdness motivated me to create the Motherboard Ascension Network (MAN). Seeing the digital climate around us, shift more and more into an AI landscape, it makes me wonder how it will bleed with our current culture, personal and professional lives. I have more questions than understanding of AI if I’m being transparent.
This piece serves as a place to ponder a dream. A place where AI could have the ability to morph into a cult like structure, controlling the opportunities they give to you, while also allowing you to leave if you so choose. What are your dreams? How can AI help make them true? Would they make them worse or better? Will you allow it to help you?
